The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
